It’s (Almost) Christmas!

I’ve even been wished Merry Christmas already — where does the time go?

Little Flock has been in deep hibernation for most of 2025, doing lots of non-woolly things. The old Sheep Shed Shop in Lichfield was terribly quiet through 2024, and the last quarter wasn’t quite as brilliant as in previous years.

Looking ahead, 2025 was shaping up to be even quieter. Footfall was declining, and the economic forecasts were anything but cheerful. I’d like to say the decision to close the physical shop was tough — but honestly, it was a no-brainer. Sometimes you just have to stop flocking around and make the sensible call.

Having an online presence is always good, but it takes a lot of constant herding — updates, photos, posts, and a fair bit of drive. I’ll admit I haven’t been quite as ewe-phoric about the online side as I should have been… and I’ve only got myself to blame for that.

Now that winter’s upon us, though, the woolly world starts calling again. Thoughts turn to cosy homes, candles, roaring fires, hot chocolates (and maybe a cheeky glass or two of port!). And of course, nothing finishes the scene quite like a soft blanket over your knees — it’s the icing on the Christmas cake, or maybe just the fleece on top.
